Victorian Government, Local Government and other agency plans and policies are the foundation on which many activities to conserve and restore our natural environment are based.
Warrnambool Coastcare Landcare Network actively works to shape policy and planning. We write submissions to local and state reviews, inquiries and planning projects that have the potential to damage or repair the environment.
Our members participate in reference groups and steering committees for important projects such as the former Warrnambool Safer Harbour project and the current Warrnambool Foreshore Precinct Plan. We do this to protect natural assets such as Merri Marine Sanctuary.
We help shape the plans and strategies that we hope will improve the natural environment in our largely modified urban, peri-urban and rural areas.
We love planting trees, protecting our penguins and caring for the coast but we know that planning and policy is where the big decisions are made.
